Whitening teeth can cause damage to your enamel so it is always best to see a dentist first.

A dentist can assess the general health of your teeth and help advice you. If you drink a lot of soda chances are that you have cavities and your teeth could fall out!

They will also scale and clean your teeth so that if you do bleach them so the bleach will have a better effect. Even without bleach, your teeth will look and feel cleaner.

Most importantly, stop drinking that soda and brush after each meal. Don't forget to floss as well.

I have three terrible gaps between my first four front teeth and i hate them so much. I'm really self conscious over it and it makes me feel really upset because whenever i smile or laugh, i automatically close my mouth and stop, or place my hand over my mouth so no one can see. It's really affecting me because i don't go out with my friends much because i'm nervous of them staring at my teeth and I hate when people do that. They make me feel really depressed.

I'm 15 and i've had the three quite large gaps in my teeth for years. I can't get braces due to the fact i've only lost 11 teeth because of my mam's genes (she had to have all her teeth surgically removed at 16 since she'd only lost about 6 teeth) and I only got my first tooth at 2.

I live in Ireland so i can't get these 'invisaline' things i keep hearing about. (I don't know how its spelled) because they are not over here. I can't get teeth bands since i have multiple gaps and it was recommend not to use them with multiple gaps.

I'd really like some advice on how to get these closed. My mam won't bring me to get my teeth checked by the dentist because she'd have to book a private viewing and she said shes not doing that, no matter how much ive begged her.

Please, please help. I hate my teeth so much and the gaps are too big to close when all my teeth fall out. A tooth has not been lose for almost two years. I hate when every stares at me and i hate the fact i can't smile or laugh without someone looking at me or laughing. Even my dad called me "Gappy" the other day and i almost broke down crying. I can't deal with them.

You can try dental bonding, they use a tiny sting to close the gaps

Ok speaking from experience, use Sonicare. It's an electronic tooth brush worth about 100 dollars. You can find it in pharmacies such as Duane Reade or Rite Aid(ask the cashier because its locked). It comes with a charger and after you brush your teeth just charge it. Trust me it's totally worth it and lasts a lifetime. Changing the brush costs like 20 dollars and you'd have to change it probably every 6 months. And get this- it brushes 31,000 times per minute. It's really worth the 100 dollars and brushing your teeth isn't a hassle anymore, because it litterally does the work for you. It automatically stops i think in like 4 minutes. I mean i'm very lazy so i just use it in the morning mostly and don't even bother brushing at night. And my teeth are still white as can be. Brushing it one time per day is really enough with this product.

Please look more into this product because i know how it felt to have yellow teeth.

If you are a coffee drinker, your teeth will probably have a brownish tinge. I find that Aquafresh brand toothpaste did lighten my teeth a few shades. The only way to get a celebrity's smile is to get your teeth professionally whitened.

Baking Soda used once in a while (every 2 weeks) will be okay, but if you use it too often it will wear away your enamel.

You could also try hydrogen peroxide. You mix it in a ratio of 1 part water and 1 part peroxide. I usually just use 1 cap of hydrogen peroxide and 1 cap of water and swish for 30 seconds. It does work (makes your teeth a few shades whiter), but all in all if you really want them whitened you have to get them done professionally.

Our teeth are not naturally white, the color of our teeth has a natural yellow tinge to it.

whitening and bleaching is same thing as the bleach contains hydrogen peroxide mixture,which if applied to the tooth surface will change the original surface colour and whiten it.
meanwhile tooth cleaning/scaling is different,which the dentist just removes the tartar or stains from the teeth surface so that the teeth look more brighter,here the original color of the tooth will not change.

Celebrity teeth are usually very white because they bleach them.
Bleaching your teeth is a very normal process and I do it all the time.
You can have it done at the dentist's office or even do it at home. I use the 2 hour Crest white strip, you leave it on for two hours and your teeth are white for three months!
However if you have sensitive teeth it can be very painful and I recommend using a toothpaste like Sensodine for a week.
While your teeth may not be as white as they are on TV, teeth are also editied on a computer to look even whiter than they actually are.
